BTS MMA – Reflection…

hercosmoscomplex:

So this was me like two weeks ago in my next album theory post:

Possible titles for next album…

  • Speak Yourself? (this is the most obvious for me)
  • Growth?
  • Reflection of Youth?
  • Reflection on Youth?
  • Reflection?
  • Reflect Yourself?

And this was during the BTS VCR at MMAwards today:

I mean they literally turned up with a mirror. I’m now thinking this may be more of the theme of the album/MV’s as opposed to the name. The name will probably be ‘Love Myself’, maybe Love Myself: Reflection or Growth.

Read the writing on the mirror upwards and it reads as ‘I show not only your true side but also your fake side’.

I figured this out pretty quickly because of the Harry Potter reference, but I can’t take credit as someone beat me to posting this one on twitter lol (credit).

So in other words the mirror shows their reflection which reveals not only their true selves, but also them behind the masks. The real them. Jungkooks reflection? It moves differently to him on this side of the mirror… that’s because we see all sides of who they are, they can’t hide behind the masks. This is like the Mirror of Erised from Harry Potter which does a similar thing.

Quick throwback to the London show…

And in the background of this Melon VCR you hear Yoongi’s distorted voice which is a clip from an episode of run BTS where he is talking about how because they live on camera people may expect them to be different to how they are in real life, but they can’t live like that, they can’t make themselves seem a certain way that isn’t true. I couldn’t remember where I heard this myself but someone linked it on twitter click (credit)

if you want to watch what he said exactly. Suddenly these album concept photos take on a slightly different meaning…

It’s the world trying to box them in, tell them who they are. But truthfully… they are just themselves, with all the sides the mirror shows…

… they can’t hide behind a mask.

Also interesting was the part where they suddenly disappeared and the cloaks fell to the ground. If this aint a pointer that my Epiphany and Fake Love ending predictions are right I don’t know what is. In both of those theories I theorised that at the end they/Jin disapear because Jin has gone back in time again, creating a new alternate universe.

*Edit* Just noticed the flower in this VCR too:

This is the same flower Jin was trying to protect in Fake Love, the one that represented ‘I grew a flower that can’t be bloomed in a dream that can’t come true’…

Notice the colours are different before this new VCR flower disappears?

Well, that’s because they are shifting out of one universe and into a new one. This colour shift is used all over the place in their MV’s to show them moving through space and time as Jin messes with the timeline, creating new alternate universes/realities. If you want to read more evidence for this, read my main theory explanation post here.

There are just too many bits of evidence now for this not to be the case. Even Jimin’s ‘Nevermind’ Tattoo adds to the case. I firmly believe the next album will be about growth/reflection in order to ‘love myself’ and we will see them go back in some way in the music video for this.

I wonder what their performance at Mama is going to give us… Can’t wait.

not gonna lie i think the reason i’m always so soft when i see bts interacting in a way that screams ‘THATS FAMILY BITCH’ is primarily because the concept of ‘found families’.

like the idea of a family you build yourself, full of people who love you and support you unconditionally, full of people who share dreams and joy and pain and love and laughter, people who choose to stay even when some days it is easier to leave, and do so not because you share blood but because they care for you?????

it’s just so so so wonderful and breathtaking and fascinating, you know???

Finding out that Frances Dana Barker Gage, a white woman, rewrote Sojourner Truth’s famous speech to be more stereotypically “Southern slave” (complete with slurs and misspellings like dat, dere, dey) when Sojourner Truth was actually from New York and spoke only Dutch until she was almost ten and wouldn’t have actually sounded that way linguistically and decidedly did not use the phrase “Ain’t I A Woman?” at all is…whew. And on top of everything, she embellished details about Sojourner Truth’s life (like the number of children she had/how many of them were sold into slavery), wrote that ST said that she could take beatings like a man, and the reception of the speech in the room (she claims ST was called a n*gg*r, earlier accounts say the room was welcoming).

Lmaooo peak white feminist antics.
