Fleur, how do you feel about the whole Japan and Jimin’s shirt debacle? I don’t really think it’s a big deal but I’m also not Korean or Japanese. -C

la-fleur-de-lotus:

Hello C.

A mistake was made, by the staff? By Jimin? because the t-shirt is in poor taste and insensitive, but it represents a truth, even if it’s an ugly one, Korean liberation from imperial Japan occurred because two A-bombs were dropped in two cities in Japan with the awful and devastating results that we know and Japan surrendered.

Korean people freedom is forever linked to those lives lost. That’s why to a certain extent I understand why many South Koreans see those bombs as the key to their freedom, from Japan, a cruel ruler (1910-1945), who used thousands Korean women (comfort women) as sex slaves, men as forced labourers, erased SK’s people identity etc. It doesn’t mean that South Koreans are celebrating those deaths, they are focusing on their own freedom, it’s their perspective, their history and their pain. I’m not saying it is what Jimin thought  when he wore that t-shirt.

*sigh* But it’s not about the t-shirt, never was, if it was, BH’s PR would have released a statement stating that one of the staff members made an unfortunate mistake, we should have been more cautious and checked the t-shirt thoroughly since it came (from a fansite?) we apologize for failing our artists and our fans…we will try harder etc. But they probably decided not to comment in order not to add fuel to the fire and make things worse.

It was never about the t-shirt, because between Japan and South Korea it’s never that simple, above all with nationalism on both part, their issues (political, historical, with WWII legacy, cultural, economical etc.) are complex and no side is blameless. There is always a context, see here. It’s all politics, and someone decided that it would be a good strategy to use that t-shirt to say, “see South Koreans
BTS

are spitting on our deaths and pain”, so people would talk about it and the debate would shift on the other camp’s pain instead. Politics.

BTS are used as political tools, that’s what success does. Unfortunately, it will not be the last time.

But hopefully this crisis will pass, until the next one. Please see Billboard interesting article here.

TODAY I MET ONE OF YOU!!

mimibtsghost:

My dear,

Today was one of my happiest days. One of my dreams came true. I met one of my dear followers and friends today. She came to my country and we somehow made time to meet. The joy and happiness I felt were unreal. I will never forget how we held hands like Jimin and Taehyung and went around the city. She kept telling me that I was amazing and beautiful but who was I to take these wondrous compliments from a legit angel. I hope I will meet or/and interact with more of you in the future. So until then, please take care of yourself and love yourself.

I purple you
Mimi

I saw this post showing chali puss laughing with Joonie and it showed all the other guys and their side eyes. I had too laugh cause they not even trying to hide their petty. Bitch Yoongi and Jimin straight up look over at them and then back at each other and have “eye conversation” like look at this little..He do know he’s not the 8th member, right? Hobi sitting miles away looking over at him like who is he? Jin and Tae being polite bougie aunties..Joonie just looked unimpressed it was hilarious

Isn’t it weird how you can actually feel the pain in your chest and stomach when something really hurts your feelings

This is actually because it activates your vagus nerve! Basically your body goes “we are so upset! We must be injured! Where???? On the inside guts! Those are confusing and hard to differentiate!!! Confusing guts are hurt!”

Great! How do I uninstall it?

“great! how do i uninstall it?” carries the same vibe as “thanks! i hate it” but more ACTIONABLE bc we gettin our shit together in 2k18
