[ hyyh is forever ]

a bit of theory, a bit of rambling, a lot of nostalgia.

hyyh isn’t just the eras of two albums (hyyh pt. 1 & pt. 2) it’s… a lot bigger than that, as a concept and the meanings it holds to bts are varied and complex. because they’re literally living the pieces of hyyh, the concept of youth and everything inside and around that, including losing youth… what youth means, what it means to grow up, etc., right now.

it’s not that youth never necessarily ends but that… the feeling you had, then, isn’t gone because it’s not happening anymore. the feelings you experience, the memories made, don’t disappear. you don’t have to hold on so tightly to the past, to the good times, because more are coming.

it’s learning to let go, learning when it’s time to let people find their own way. part of growing up is understanding that you can’t always be the hero, and save everyone, and that there is no utopia of adulthood where you suddenly understand everything and the world and you’re always happy.

growing up is…a forever thing, and so is youth, and all the lessons that come with being young. moving on doesn’t mean forgetting. letting go doesn’t mean it never happened…and growing doesn’t mean you losing who you are.

and to link this more clearly to HYYH/BTS:

“Let’s move

Goodbye to this place, that we grew attached to

“I looked back for a moment

Times we cried and laughed”

“Goodbye now.”

and namjoon’s outro;

“Everyone’s afraid of changes

Staying, moving on, staying, moving on

We keep repeating the same thing again and again

Old or new, new or old, that isn’t really important

What’s important is, that we still breathe and live in the same place.

So let’s move on.”

the parallels visually between HYYH and Euphoria are purposeful, because they’re meant to relate directly to the theme of cylcles in HYYH.

  • jin, cyling back through time, making the same mistakes
  • the boys, always coming back to the same spots, the same feelings. always loving each other, always saving each other.

healing isn’t about forgetting everything you went through, and denying the pain. moving on doesn’t mean you lose everything that happened. everything, eventually, comes to an end… and facing that can be the hardest thing of all. Even coming to terms with the possibility of it all ending, someday, is hard on its own.

I gotta let you know that I need to let you go

Hard to say goodbye

But I can’t run

I’m ready to let go…

…The color of the sky we saw together

The scent of the path we walked down together

Don’t forget them.” / “Let’s not forget those things but put them away

This place smells like us / let’s not forget this scent, wherever we are / we cried a lot and laughed a lot / but it was so beautiful.”

HYYH is a homage to everything BTS are, and have been. it’s them coming to terms with the reality of growing up, finding happiness, peace, love. it’s about facing who they are, so they can become who they’ve always wanted to be; showing themselves to the world without a mask, accepting their flaws, what they can’t change, and loving themselves anyway. it’s about transformation, pain, pleasure, and finding yourself when you thought you’d be lost, forever.

most of all, it’s about… being human, and all the shit that comes with it. finding / creating something beautiful, even in the worst of times. coming to terms with the fact that there is no neverland, but that being with the people you love, no matter how hard it gets, is somehow better.

youth can’t last forever. euphoria is temporary. everything dies, everyone leaves, one way or another. all we can do is cherish what we have, when we have it. keep going. and when it’s time…don’t hold on.

let it go.

the fact that serendipity means “the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way” just adds to the whole theory of seokjin leaping between alt realities, chasing after the perfect one. he is trying to create happiness through force by searching so vigorously for it, yet the whole concept of serendipity is to allow happiness to unfold at its own pace in such a way that it is unexpected.

aka seokjin needs to stop leaping between alt realities in his desperate search for contentment and self-love. he needs to return to his original reality, no matter how ruined it may be, and only then will serendipity be able to occur.

and the message from this to us is: love yourself as you are, flaws and all. don’t desperately push yourself to become whatever idea of “better” you have in your head. don’t tear yourself apart trying to find self-love and happiness – let it come to you. it’ll come to you.

as in: FACE YOURSELF. face what and who you truly are, or you’ll end up dragged back into the same pattern, the same self hatred, the same version of reality. over and over and over again.

foryoujikook:

This is the user that i talk about in my last post.

The ss that she post that got the kpopies mad is:

Yeah, they teamed up. The amount of rt’s and like’s is huge. Dissapointed but not suprised.

And they even DMed her, harassing her, threatening her.

This is so disgusting and low. Try to warn every armys to be ready for this upcoming comeback. We never knew what would happen. And most and foremost, enjoy BTS’s comeback as much as you can ❤

P/s : the user on the ss already changed her username so that those pshyco can stop dm-ing her. She’ll log out from twitter for some time cause she doesnt feel safe. Honestly, if you make people feels unsafe, that is a crime. I really felt bad for her.
