And on this 4th Anniversary of this blog i got to live one of my dreams of seeing a bangtan concert in Seoul. When I started this blog i really wanted a space to get more people to support them bcoz I wanted them to succeed so much. Little did i know that both bangtan and i will be living our dreams 4 years after. So thankful and I’m so proud to see bangtan succeed every step of the way. Here’s to more and more happy and dream fulfilling days ahead!!!
– they been saying this since the concept pics. all dolled up, in cages, pretty for you to watch?? crazy circus outfits?? the super happy saturated colors??? the childish image??? hmmm
– not to mention they spend half the mv inside a pretty cage/tank fish
– doing things that have ppl have been continuously annoying them for. tae’s glasses/mullet/fashion? check. namjoons filters? check. hobi’s sound effects? choo choo check
– jimin saying you cant stop me lovin myself
– jin saying i’m in love with myself
– the aiport mobbing reference
– about the crazy excessive edits. thats exaclty what it is. like idk what to tell you, have you looked at some recent big artists mvs?? its supposed to be like that. its called idol, what did you think was gonna be? its meant to be a hyperbole. i thought we got that from the concept pics but hey
– the weird ass attack on titans part. i saw some speculation but i just see the big celeb image ppl made of bts watching the actual bts, inside their fancy tank getting turnt. thats me tho
– they literally started the song saying yall gonna complain no matter what i do so i’m gonna do whatever the hell i want mind ya business peace isnt that another pretty obvious indicator of what they wanted with this mv
in trivia love namjoon says “im just a person, you eroded all of my edges and turned me into a love” and I didn’t understand it and i thought it was something lost in translation or something but, BUT look at the characters in 사람 (person) and 사랑 (love)…….. if you “erode” the edges of the character ㅁ it turns into ㅇ therefore it turns “person” into “love”
y’all acting surprised BTS collab’d with nicki minaj when they’re best budz w/ the mfer who wrote on this song lmao? that’s why THIS sexual assault victim unstanned after following this group since 2013, bye. hope supreme boi chokes.
Since my other post is getting some attention… I’m going to reblog this again too… in (misguided) hopes that it will raise awareness of what Rockbottom/Supreme Boi have done… and that maybe, someday, if enough fans get angry, BigHit will make a statement or apology (for this OR for Nicki)…
It’s SUPER astronomically unlikely… but as a sexual assault / abuse survivor & former ARMY… that would help me a lot… so I’m going to try to spread the word.
This group’s music & videos were what I used for recovery after my sexual assault, after losing everything… it hurts a lot to see them associate with people like this.
i am really never getting over seesaw, i know i just listened to it a few hours ago but….man……i’ll never get over how literally every single word yoongi writes carries this amount of emotion, how each thought is so beautifully written, so flawlessly expressed, how his rap is always ALWAYS emotionally delivered, it dawns on u so heavy, provoking, almost always wrapped up in profound sadness or anger or pure emotion and perfect sound meaning, i’ve never experienced this w/ any other artist but rarely, like he’s truly on another level, i’m never getting over his rap nor his writing, which is heartbreakingly beautiful in English but i’m sure is even more beautiful in its original language w/o any translation losses. i fell in love with his mixtape, then first love, and now seesaw and i truly cannot fucking wait for every solo work of his, that kind of art is worth waiting years for.
okay i think them giving me a head ache during the mv for on purpose. they’re lyrics don’t really match the production style, because they talk about being who they are and not needing the titles people give them. and the mv? is an extreme exaggeration of every mv we’ve ever seen. the extreme use of cgi, the bright ass colors, the abrupt changes. and while watching all those bright and kind of ugly looking scenes we have images that do connect to their words. namjoon w the filters and the changes in his expression because those filters are fan service. their clothing, which in some cases is very boyish and childish because that’s the way they have to act at times. all i’m saying is that if this was done on purpose, if they really gave me a head ache on purpose, then it may have been to emphasise the kind of life they have to live. the kind of product they feel they need or have needed to produce or release in order to be successful and fit into the standard of what it means to be an idol. even if it’s not them, it could also be a generalisation if idol life across the board
I think they have used satire in a really smart way. Even though the lyrics were about loving themselves and being their true selves, the video was basically a really generic exaggerated kpop video. The ARMY don’t like it bc we know that that’s not what BTS do but this is still what the industry waits/expects from them, the fan service, boyish image, colorful clothes, different hair colours… They have summed up what being an idol is your true feelings (the lyrics) and your appearance (the mv) don’t match. But still you have to find yourself, return to your roots and you shouldn’t let yourself be lost(I think they achieved it with that scene in traditional clothes where Jimin was walking back singing the main thing we hear in the teaser and than the camera pans on Jin and we hear him sing I’m in love with myself, also overall the scene was more calm than the entire mv)I think it was really clever.
