i feel like i lost so many details on the songs because i don’t speak Korean so i can’t understand the word play or some references, or even like, the words they are ‘highlighting’ when they are singing or rapping… Those elements are so important and there are so many depths of the songs i can’t understand because of that. I’m sad y’all!

hobislobster:

namjoon’s “you can call me artist, you can call me idol, or any other something you come up with, i don’t care” shows so much growth if you take a look at his mixtape which has a sharp focus on struggling with his identity, and not knowing if he wanted to call himself an idol over, say, a hip hop artist. his mixtape expressed concerns about him not being comfortable with who he is because his sense of identity wasn’t something concrete. this line completely destroys that way of thinking and straight up says “hey, you can call me whatever the fuck you want, but i’m finally clear with what i want to do and who i want to be – i’m not letting you take that away from me, and at the end of the day, i’m still at the top of the music industry, so who really wins here?” and literally nothing can top that for me

I’m hesitant to say whether IDOL features, is inspired by, or copies Nick Cave’s work (I don’t know the circumstances or sources of the pieces in the MV – though they do not look to be up to the caliber of Cave’s work).

I’m having trouble finding an image which matches the figures next to namjoon, but I have definitely seen a piece like those?  Anyone know the artist?  Is it Nick Cave?
